Azeroth’s champions will be able to enter the Mage Tower again. In 9.1.5, Legion Timewalking will become available for the first time, and with Timewalking comes a wondrous way to return to the moments of heroism from the past. When Sargeras was later defeated and dealt his final vengeful blow to Azeroth, the Mage Tower was shut, and it has been inaccessible ever since. World of Warcraft is available now on PC.Soon after the Burning Legion invaded Azeroth at the Broken Shore, the Alliance and Horde began using the Mage Tower at Deliverance Point for high-end training of their most promising champions. Despite the dissenting voices, however, most of the World of Warcraft community seems to agree the Mage Tower’s permanent return is a win. Some are worried the challenges will lose their luster by being accessible all the time, while others still need World of Warcraft to keep up the momentum of listening to its fans and make the Challenge Mode Dungeons from Mists of Pandaria. Players have been asking for the Mage Tower to be made permanent since it was removed at the end of Legion and are annoyed it took 4 years to do so. Some players are not so willing to applaud World of Warcraft yet, however. Most players are glad to see the limited access to these challenges lifted and praise World of Warcraft for listening to their feedback in doing so. While there is a certain charm to limited-time rewards, new and returning players not having access to them – or the fun and challenging encounters within the Mage Tower itself – is ultimately not worth the exclusivity. Nearly every World of Warcraft fan is overjoyed to see the return of the Mage Tower. Though the original rewards from Legion can no longer be earned, the new set of rewards will no longer be exclusive. The Timewalking version introduced new rewards – though most were recolors of the original rewards – those who defeated every challenge within the Mage Tower could unlock the new Soaring Spelltome mount from the Shadowlands mount voting contest.
The original run of the Mage Tower in Legion held a number of unique rewards and achievements players could earn by completing each challenge. Starting at the end of March, the challenges – and the cosmetic rewards within – will be available indefinitely. While Timewalking events usually lasted a week or two, they would be separated by several months, meaning players who were unable to complete all the Mage Tower challenges in time would have to wait to try them again.
